Another door closes

The apartment in Bangor has been rented, and Errol and his dad should be rolling in with the moving van any minute. The move got delayed a day by a snowstorm. I don't really know how much we got Sunday. Maybe a foot of very fluffy stuff.

Kelsie left this morning and Zeus was left with me while Errol picks up his things at his mother's house. Zeus and I had a bit of a nap, breakfast and then removed snow. It takes twice as long to shovel snow with Zeus, but it's twice as much fun. He's asleep now, I was hoping to tire him out for the long ride to Bangor.

Kelsie is excited about the move. i hope it goes the way she wants it to. We'll ride up to see it sometime soon I'm sure. So for now, the nest is really empty. Jay is in Georgia and will need a temporary home when he gets back, the twins seem secure for now and Kelsie has a six month lease on her dream.

They've flown away with small beats. I think that's easier than the door slamming closes behind them all at once. Brian and I had some time last winter/spring maybe when Kelsie was at college during the week and the boys were all comfortable in their own places. It was kinda nice to have the place to ourselves, to eat what we wanted and not worry about onions. Not to be woken up during the night when somebody came home. Although for the past several years I've learned to sleep through that. Never with Kelsie, but I'd had more time to get used it with with boys.

So now, we try it on our own again. I don't think we'll take up ballroom dancing. With this economy, I don't think we'll be doing much traveling either. I'll be happy with more fishing, whether on the boat we just acquired or floating down the 'scrog on my kayak. I'll try to be happy with the visits I get and I'll wait for all of them to consider home a touchstone.
